When we talk about the 70s
and the Glamrock phase we must talk about
T-Rex in the first place. T-Rex, with its
founders Marc Bolan & Steve Took.
As a Duo, named Tyrannosaurus Rex they were
discovered in 1968 by David Bowie’s Producer
Tony Visconti. He shortened the name in
T-Rex. From October 1969 on, Marc Bolan used
the electric guitar more and more and looked
for a new partner because Took left.
Marc met Mickey Finn and together with him
they had their first Top-10 Hit, 04.01.1971
with „Ride A White Swan“.. The next single
„Hot Love“ was T-Rex’s number 1 hit, just
three months later. Five more number 1
singles will appear after that. Till 1973
they were twelve times in the Top-10. From
1974 on it became quiet around them and
there were no real big hits during that
period. In 1977 T-Rex wanted to gain great
success once more, but unfortunately Marc
Bolan died in a car accident September 16th
1977.
At the end of the 90s, Mickey Finn lets the
band revive and as Mickey Finn´s T-Rex they
tour England, Japan and Germany, the
countries where they still have many Fans.
The Highlight, without doubt, is their
performance at the Formule 1 Grand Prix in
Silverstone UK, in front of 120.000 people.
January 11th 2003 Micky Finn sadly passed
away. Again a sad day in T-Rex history.
Fortunately the band decided not to split
up, but to continue as a Celebration of Marc
and Mickey.

T-Rex, a celebration to Marc and Mickey, are:
Tony Allday – Bass,
Dave Major – Keyboard.
Rob Benson – Leadsinger. Rob’s voice and
stage performance reminds of Marc Bolan in
every aspect.
Paul Fenton – Drums. Paul (ex-Christie)
played with Marc and also with Mickey
Graham Oliver – (ex-Saxon) joins the band on
guitar in 2004 and gives that specific extra
dimension to the band’s sound.
You have to hear this Band, there’s no way
to pass by. Go through the immense
excitement that T-Rex, a celebration of Marc
and Mickey will give you, time after time.
