Ohio Express
1968..The time where the BUBBLEGUM MUSIC was invented.. Before, there was only Rock 'n Roll, a simple, still effective idea. But in the 60s, everything changed and it was Flower Power "everywhere"! The Hippie-Generation celebrates with his heroes at Festivals like WOODSTOCK.
The BUBBLEGUM MUSIC was the happy-go-lucky music for teenagers. Recognizable melodies over the stomping beats of electronic guitars, amplified by Marshall Amps were the basics for bands as 1910 Fruitgum Co and Ohio Express to have world successes.
Yesterday 1968....
The Carnegie Hall in NY City is sold out. Fans of the BUBBLEGUM MUSIC celebrated their probably most glamorous party ever with the Bubblegum Bands of their time: bands like the Ohio Express; 1910 Fruitgum Co.; Music Explosion and the Kasenetz Katz Singing Orch. Circus.
Today…
the members of the group OHIO EXPRESS, Tim Gorwin, Gary Rochelle and Mike Brumm, as well as the original Bass Player of 1910 Fruitgum Co., Bruce Shay, are on the road again. They are supported by Melo Garcia on keyboards and make the old and the young go crazy with their hit singles of the 60s.
The new sound of Ohio as well as the arrangements of the earlier years, are very up to date and even fresher than ever. The audiences only let the band go off after a few encores.
