John Coghlan's QUO

For 20 years, John was the first and original drummer for the British Rock Band Status Quo. Literally touring and rocking all over the world. John is a musician in heart and soul and not to stop. He played in many bands after leaving Status Quo and has an incredible carreer to look back at......
... and the man and his drum kit still continue playing all over the world.

John Coghlan teamed up with Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster, who just had formed a band in 1962. They became Status Quo when Rick Parfitt joined them.
Status Quo had many hits and toured all over the world. We all remember Caroline, Down Down, Rain and the everlasting song Rockin' All Over the World, just to name a few of their many hits.

After his departure from Status Quo in 1981,Coghlan played in his own band Diesel and with and in several bands.
Bands, all with the finest selection of musicians.
John also teamed up with the late Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) Chas Hodges (from Chas 'n' Dave) and Roy Wood (former Wizzard and ElO). This band was called Rockers.
But adventyrous as John was concerning music he carried on and formed Partners in Crime, which involved also Roy Wood, Phil Lynott and Chas Hodges.  "We Are The Boys...", was a rock and roll medley, released in November 1983.
After Partners in Crime split, Coghlan continued with a new Diesel Band line up, who had a record deal for the release of the band's first single. The song was 'Licensed To Rock' and was released September 1988. The line up of the band that would feature on the record was Coghlan on drums, John Verity on guitar and vocals, Jeff Brown on bass and guitarist Ray Minhinnett. After finishing the tour with Diesel, John Coghlan decided to stop with the band for a while.
A new adventure brought him to Australia to work with Alan Lancaster again, who was busy putting a new band together. The Bombers.
After Australia, in the early 90s, John joined Diesel again, but in the late 90s he started working with his own band, John Coghlan's Quo.

John Coghlan's Quo still perform all the Status Quo hits from his years with them and the band have great success where ever they perform.
